Businesses I want In the 21st Ward

The below is a list of some businesses that I would like to see added to the 21st ward. I know quite a bit of the listed are already present such as a Starbucks, America’s Best, and Bally Fitness however I’m thinking more locally and community minded. The list is by no means exhaustive or complete, but with these added services it would make the 21st more walkable and thriving. Also be mindful that a community needs options. Take a look at the super markets and tell me this competition does not keep each one on their toes which means you as the customer win with better service and prices.
Café just off the Metra at Gresham will serve commuters to and from the Loop as well as the neighborhood in general. With Wi-Fi the location can serve as a gathering place for social meet ups, book clubs, and block club meetings. An added bonus; positive traffic and energy for those who rely on the Metra trains during non-peak hours.

Tutoring/ test preparation center primarily for young students.  Good tutoring sessions can serve as supplemental education which is needed for those who attend under performing schools. A test prep center can further prepare students for the ACT/SATexams.

Tailor and not a cleaners providing alterations.
Dentist, a community can never have enough good, clean, and affordable heath services.

Boxing Gym for adults and children, one of the best overall workouts one can do. Also the confidence it builds will transcend to other areas of your life.  The added bonus is that boxing is a constructive way to release aggression.

Jazz/Blues clubs come on this is Chicago. A market still exists for good music. A well run club would have a huge residual effect on other neighboring businesses.

Optometrist, see dentist.

Spa, not a salon with spa-like services. Wouldn’t it be great to be pampered without having to subdue road rage before and after?
Sport bars, full glam. I mean wings, burgers, and drink specials throughout the week so we can get our Bears, Bulls, and Sox on!

Chiropractor, see dentist and optometrist.
Music lessons, with schools funding limited children are losing their exposure to the arts.

Yoga studio it would be nice to have a little tranquility in the 21st.
Mexican restaurants. I’m not a Pepe’s fan. Also we need a nice spot to chill while sipping on a m-rita.

A lounge where adults in sport coats and heels can relax, discuss life, dance and hang.
